After setting up that imposing posture, I noticed another irregularity with my model / character's envelopes at the - hmm - back :-). I had to extend the thigh envelope's parameters as follows:

Inner> Radial Scale: 1.2, Parent Overlap: 0.5, Child Overlap: 0.1

Outer> Radial Scale: 1.0, Parent Overlap: 0.475, Child Overlap: 0.3

I can't guarantee that these settings will solve all your envelope problems in 3D Studio MAX ( 3ds max ). Spent some time experimenting with the envelope behaviour while changing the parameters, and you will learn to know what to do when an irregularity comes out of the blue.

Mirroring the envelope properties in 3D Studio MAX ( 3ds max ) - Tutorial / Lesson

Just the way we copied one side's properties and pasted it to the other side for the Biped, we can mirror the one side's envelope's parameters to the other side in 3D Studio MAX ( 3ds max ).

Select the Left leg's envelope at the thigh, and click 'Copy' (below the envelope parameters). Now select the Right leg's envelope at the thigh as shown in the figure, and click 'Paste'. The properties get's copied over to the Right thigh's envelope in 3D Studio MAX ( 3ds max ).

Similarly mirror the remaining envelope's that you have modified.

The figure shows our beauty with almost all the envelopes fixed in 3D Studio MAX ( 3ds max ).

This figure is for your reference. I have selected all the envelopes in the model / character, so you can refer it to get an idea about how each envelope should approximately look in size and proportion in 3D Studio MAX ( 3ds max ). Please note that it is just for reference. There are no absolutes.

Here I have shown the biped alone without the female mesh, in the posture we have used. You can analyze it to learn more about the posture.

This is the fully rigged female mesh (with Biped hidden). I have applied two omnis into the scene to get a good highlight. You can download the model here so that you can use it for reference in 3D Studio MAX ( 3ds max ) , comparison and for later chapters on character animation.

Save the scene. I would like to congratulate you with my whole heart, for having reached till this advanced stage, all by yourself. Get something really delicious to eat and take a break. Give yourself a treat worth the effort you have taken.
