| Stitching the leg to the body in 3D Studio MAX ( 3ds max ) |
All that remains now is the leg that needs to be stitched to our female model's body to make it almost complete. Merge the scene containing the leg (import the leg spline cage alone) into the body combined scene in 3D Studio MAX ( 3ds max ).
Scale the leg to the proper proportion with the body. Move, rotate and align the leg's spline cage in 3D Studio MAX ( 3ds max ) as shown in the figure.

Before we start stitching the leg onto the hip, we need to reshape that region a bit. For the time being, move the leg's spline cage a little farther from the body's spline cage. Now move the vertices of the hip region so that it expands into a large circular shape as shown in the figure. All you need to do is carefully move apart, the vertices of a small rectangular region in the spline cage, near the hip region where you intend to fit the leg. Also taper the groin region a little in 3D Studio MAX ( 3ds max ). |

Switch to the 'Segment' mode in the Modify panel, with the body's spline cage selected. Select the segments that lies within the area in the hip region, that are highlighted in the figure. Now press Delete key to remove them in 3D Studio MAX ( 3ds max ). A hole will appear in the hip region, where we can fit our leg's spline cage.
