Refining the female human model / character's leg in 3D Studio MAX ( 3ds max )

Connect the corresponding vertices of each circular segment using the 'Create Line' tool, from the top of the leg to the bottom, as shown in the figure. The process is just similar to that we have done during the model / character's arm modeling.

As usual, create a reference copy and assign a new 2-sided material to it. Don't forget to move the reference a bit apart from the spline cage in 3D Studio MAX ( 3ds max ).

Since modeling the fingers of the leg will be time consuming and repetitive in 3D Studio MAX ( 3ds max ), I'm leaving it to you as an exercise. Don't worry. The process is just similar to the way you modeled the model / character's thumb, in our arm modeling tutorial.

Close the foot's tip, by connecting the vertices using the 'Create Line' tool, as shown in the figure.

You will notice that the model / character's foot's tip appears to be having a sharp edge instead of having a curved shape. In order to make it curved, select the vertex (click and drag around it) shown in the figure, right click on it and from the menu that appears, click 'Weld vertices'. This will weld the vertices and make the shape curved. Perform the same step on the remaining three vertices which has a squarely shape.

Now it's time for refining the shape of the model / character's leg. Take a good look at the figures given and adjust the vertices in your model / character. Make sure that you give a pronounced calf and you make the thigh considerably large and curved. Taking some time to experiment in 3D Studio MAX ( 3ds max ) will make your model / character look pleasing.
